Giclée (“zhee-klay”) is a French word meaning to spit or spray ink. The pigmented inks are sprayed on the canvas in tiny droplets of approximately one million per square inch. The Giclée printing process provides better color accuracy than any other means of reproduction. The Giclée prints by Jennifer Vranes are printed by Squirt Printing on state-of-the-art printers. Using Squirt's modern printmaking technology, Vranes is able to produce incredibly detailed reproductions for her Galleries and Special Art Collectors. She hands inspects each print to make sure that the quality and color is similar to that of her originals. She also heavily enhances each print to capture the textural quality that has made her originals famous. Vranes keeps each edition very limited, printing only 95 of each image. This low number helps the prints retain their value. Vranes makes the word “limited” accurate rather than just another mass-produced art product. She hand signs and numbers each print with a gold pen. |
